ARPA Funds

In 2021, Rhode Island received over $1 billion in American Rescue Plan funds, giving our State a historic opportunity to make real changes to how we do business.

Joe was proud to support the “Down Payment” program that the General Assembly passed the first day of the 2022 session, which includes:

  • $38.5 million to support children, families and social supports

  • $32 million to assist small businesses impacted by COVID-19

  • $29.5 million to promote affordable housing, housing stability supports and broadband

  • $13 million for hard-hit tourism, hospitality and event industries.


Access to reliable internet is not only a key to our economic recovery - it is also a basic issue of equity.

In 2022, Joe co-sponsored legislation to create a Broadband Council to create a plan to increase service across the State.
