Born and raised in Rhode island

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Joe Solomon comes from a family with a long tradition of public service and community leadership. He has spent his career serving Rhode Islanders, in the courtroom, at the State House, and in his community.

As an attorney with nearly two decades of legal experience, Joe has seen Rhode Island’s justice system from the inside. He prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases in the Warwick Solicitor’s Office and has spent more than a decade serving as a court-appointed bail commissioner, making difficult public safety decisions when they matter most.

Joe has also spent more than a decade in the Rhode Island House of Representatives, where he represents Warwick and serves as Chair of the House Corporations Committee. In that role, he has helped oversee legislation involving financial institutions, business regulation, insurance, technology, telecommunications, and consumer protection.

Throughout his time in the State House, Joe has fought to protect Rhode Island families by passing laws to protect seniors from financial exploitation, combat catalytic converter theft, protect children and animals, hold insurance companies accountable, and strengthen consumer protections. He has worked to make government more responsive, accountable, and focused on the people it serves.

Joe’s career has given him experience from every angle: prosecuting cases in the courtroom, making tough decisions as a bail commissioner, and writing and overseeing the laws that govern our state. He isn’t running for Attorney General to learn the job, he’s running with the experience to lead an office of over 250 government employees on day one.

Joe lives in Warwick with his wife Sarah and their two rescue dogs, Gigi and Freddie.
